StayCheck is a Chrome extension that helps you compare a hotel listing with Google Maps ratings and review excerpts. This policy explains what it processes and why.
When you use StayCheck on a supported Booking.com, Agoda, or Expedia property page, the extension reads the hotel name and address shown on that page. It sends that query to StayCheck’s Cloudflare Worker, which requests matching place and review information from Google Places/Google Maps Platform. The extension then shows the returned information on the property page.
StayCheck stores the following only in your local Chrome profile: a random installation identifier, your saved hotel-to-Google-Place matches, a small diagnostic log, and the latest local status. These items are not synced or sold by StayCheck. Saved matches contain a Google Place ID and the hotel details needed to recognize your choice.
The Cloudflare Worker keeps anonymous usage-limit records so that the service can prevent abuse and operate reliably. StayCheck does not provide user accounts, run advertising, sell browsing data, or use your browsing activity for advertising or profiling.
Hotel name and address queries are shared with StayCheck’s Cloudflare Worker and Google Maps Platform to perform the requested review check. Google’s handling of information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Cloudflare processes service traffic as StayCheck’s infrastructure provider.
You can remove locally stored StayCheck data by removing the extension from Chrome. You can also remove a saved match from the StayCheck panel. Anonymous rate-limit data is retained only for the period necessary to enforce the limit and protect the service.
StayCheck is not directed to children and is not designed to collect personal information from children.
